24/7 Nursing Care
Our top-notch nursing staff is available for your loved ones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have 24-hour RN’s, LVN’s and CNA’s to ensure complete clinical care.
Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation program incorporates Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy. Our services are offered 7 days per week, based on physician orders and recommended treatments. Rest assured that your loved ones will receive the highest level of care-personalized to help reach a full and speedy recovery.
Mental Health Unit
Our Mental Health Unit, also known as our Special Treatment Program (STP), is a unique and thriving department that offers daily activities, education and specialized treatment plans to those with mental health illnesses. Our team is trained and equipped to maintain a positive environment that is conducive to working with our residents, with a goal of being discharged to the community.
Dietary Services
Our dietary department works with each resident to ensure that all nutritional needs are met. Each resident works with our Registered Dietician to develop a preferred diet that our state-of-the-art kitchen creates.
Daily Activities
We provide engaging daily activities for our residents, as we believe that this is essential to a full and speedy recovery. Our calendar includes both group and individual activities, ranging from exercise to mind stimulating games and thought-provoking conversations, with the goal of making any stay at Downey Community Health Center, both enjoyable and family like.
IV Therapies
Intravenous therapy, also known as infusion therapy, involves the administration of antibiotics, medications, and nutritional formulas directly into the blood stream. Our in-house IV capabilities will help your loved one recover faster and more smoothly.
Wound Care Management
We work with our patients and medical team to create a comprehensive care plan with consideration of all factors contributing to and affecting the wound and the patient. Our licensed and certified wound nurses have extensive experience and specialize in the treatment of Stage IV wounds.
Post Stroke Care
Recovering from a Stroke is understandably complex and challenging for many patients. Our extensively trained team and physicians come together to formulate a rehabilitation plan that is customized to each patient’s needs. This may include therapy 7 days per week, neurological assessments and continuous clinical monitoring.
Cardiac Care
Our 24/7 nursing staff is highly qualified to help your loved one get the care they need post-heart attack. We will work the patient/family and medical team to come up with a comprehensive care plan to help the patient reach a full recovery.
Social Services Support
Our devoted Social Services team is involved from day one of admission. From quality of care to discharge planning, our compassionate and knowledgeable team is available to ensure your overall stay is at ease.
